Special Education
Welcome to the Special Education Department!
The Beverly Public School District is dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners through high quality special education programming for students in grades PK-12. Our specialized services are designed to provide equal access to educational programming for children with disabilities in compliance with federal and state regulations.
The mission of our Special Education department is to foster self-determination so that students can understand both their strengths and learning differences, and develop skills and compensatory strategies in order to become independent learners. We strive to serve students in an inclusive setting that offers meaningful access to rigorous curriculum and ensures pathways to post-graduate success for every student. We provide a full range of services including specialized academic instruction, speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, behavioral supports, nursing, orientation/mobility, services for the visually impaired and deaf/hard of hearing, and assistive technology. Special educators and general educators work together to provide appropriate educational and social experiences for all children.
If you would like to learn more about our programs and services, or have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of my staff members. You can also call the Special Education office directly at 978-921-6100 x21735. The Special Education office is open Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm. I look forward to hearing from you and working with your family on behalf of your child.
Sincerely,
