After completing an extensive search, the Beverly Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Steven Hiersche, is pleased to announce three finalists have been selected for further consideration to be the next Beverly High School Principal, beginning July 1, 2017. The finalists were selected from a diverse field of applicants. The screening committee consisting of community members, parents, staff, and students reviewed the applications and conducted interviews to determine candidates that would move forward in the process.
Mr. Cushing is currently the Narragansett Middle School Principal a position he began in 2011. Prior to this position, he was Narragansett Regional High School Assistant Principal. Additionally, he
taught history at the high school level. He has a Masters of Education degree from Boston College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics degree from Saint Anselm College. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education at Boston College.
Ms. Holman is currently the interim North Andover High School Principal. Prior to North Andover, she was the Headmaster for Brookline High School, and Assistant Principal at Newton North High
School. She previously taught history at the high school level and has experience teaching overseas. She has a Masters of Arts in History degree from Boston College and a Bachelor of Arts in History degree from Wellesley College.
Ms. Taylor is currently the interim Beverly High School Principal. Prior to her current position, Ms. Taylor was the Assistant Principal at Beverly High since, 2008, and had previously taught English
and theater arts at Beverly High. She has a Masters of Education degree from Salem State College, a Masters of Arts degree from Emerson College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Regis College.
The candidates will be visiting Beverly High School the week of April 23. There will be a “Meet and Greet” opportunity for parents, and community members to meet the candidates beginning at 3 PM as
follows: Deborah Holman on April 25th, Elizabeth Taylor April 26th, and Peter Cushing on April 28th. The location will be the Beverly High School Library, 100 Sohier Road, Beverly, MA 01915.
The Superintendent expects to make his selection for the next Beverly High School Principal shortly after the final interviews.
